COVID-19 in 2020 has plunged global cultural and art industries to their worst recession. To be a beacon, the online exhibition, Taiwan Under COVID-19: United Through Art, introduces the works of 36 passionate Taiwanese artists across three generations. They aim at demonstrating their unreserved support and warm friendship for India through art in a digital world of beauty and hope.

Artist Statement

Encompassing painting, works on paper, video, and wall installation, Chung-Fan Chang’s Kite series work represents the Eastern influence of imaginary inner landscape that reflects issues within the society and daily life experience.“Kite” refers to the vivid color fields in the abstract compositions that imply as intruders to the surroundings.Intruders cross-examine how fluorescent and artificial colors affect our vision and how that restless sensation as a metaphor of continues conflict in society. The work draws inspirations from life experience, formal Chinese ink landscape and identifies the visual simile of color and its significance in culture in the East and the West.
