COVID-19 in 2020 has plunged global cultural and art industries to their worst recession. To be a beacon, the online exhibition, Taiwan Under COVID-19: United Through Art, introduces the works of 36 passionate Taiwanese artists across three generations. They aim at demonstrating their unreserved support and warm friendship for India through art in a digital world of beauty and hope.

Artist Statement
-
“The true voice is a sound that appears before you realize, a sound that is so foreign that it seems to have come from elsewhere.”
In a conversation with another artist the other day who asked how I craft my creative language, I didn’t have an answer for that. To me, the statement above turns out to be in tune with my current art practice.
My art is conceived as my perception of the surroundings transforms through my feelings and turns into a visual image. The images in my mind appear vaguely, like enveloped in the morning mist in a forest. There’s an illusoryspace with shifting gloomy colors that creates an ambiguity between the figurative and the abstract. As if there’s a half closed door that invites me to peek through with voyeuristic excitement. It is only after I have learned to be grateful and to give that I have come to realize that painters have the ability to express their emotions and feelings on the canvas with a sense of courage to explore the unknown.
Being an artist turns out to be a channel for me to voice my thoughts and convey love.
